U.S. History help!?

After the constitution was written, why did some people oppose a national bank. (My history textbook is Prentice Hall The American Nation Beginnings Through 1877. It was copyrighted 2000U.S. History help!?
While I don't have access to your textbook, I can give you some insight and maybe it can help you find the related passage in your book.

Jefferson and Madison thought that not only was a bank not necessary, it would put all the economic power in the cities, and it was a perversion of the Constitution. They were strict constructionists and thought the Constitution should be taken literally.

Many leaders wanted the wealth to stay in farmland and agriculture. They felt that one day Americans would wake up to find that they didn't own the bank, but rather the bank owned them. They really though that it was an evil idea. They believed that the bank was being created as a way to scam people out of their money. Basically they were afraid of big government.
