I am looking for reviews of Pearson Prentice Hall's Physical Science with Earth Science, a textbook.?

I am working on an adoption of this text and I need professional reviews to submit to my district.I am looking for reviews of Pearson Prentice Hall's Physical Science with Earth Science, a textbook.?
Oh, book adoption time again? Sounds fun!

We adopted the PH Earth Science by Tarbuck/Lutgens.

I really like it b/c the authors are wonderful. They wrote a lot of my college texts. But therein lies the problem.

I teach 9th grade general ES classes. The reading level is well above most of my students. To solve the problem, I teach mostly from my own notes %26amp; activities. I use the text as a guide for vocabulary %26amp; as a resource for pictures %26amp; questions. The book is wonderful for Honors classes.

Our physical science department adopted Glencoe's Physical Science if I am not mistaken. They did look at the PH version. I have not seen the actual text myself. However, one of my friends lent me a CD-ROM w/ some resources from the PH book. The resources are really good.

Just keep in mind the age %26amp; reading level of your students. Sometimes textbook companies like to flash all the nice "free" stuff that goes along w/ the text. We received plenty of those things but most are not convenient to use. Lots of nice CD-ROMS for students but lack of computers, etc.

Good luck w/ adopting your new "baby".

LOL
