How long after childbirth can we have sex?

My fiance and I had our first little one on Valentines day and as new parents we haven't been in this situation before and we wern't given any info about sex after childbirth. What we've found online has been vague and unhelpful.



We've already started doing a few bits, but when can we have actual sex again?

My husband and I had sex 6 days post-partum. I had stopped bleeding by then and it didn't hurt at all. If you aren't bleeding still (or even if you are, if your husband is okay with that) and you aren't sore down there anymore you I don't see why you can't have sex now.How long after childbirth can we have sex?
6 weeks is what is recommended. I am surprised they didn't give you info! I was given all kinds of pamphlet,s in addition to it being in my release papers (which you have to read, and sign) also a nurse read it out loud to me....

But if she has stopped bleeding and is feeling up to it (personally I think the post partum pain is worse then labor %26amp; delivery) it is up to you guys... just take it slow %26amp; use lubricant (that part is vital, because a woman's hormones cause her to be more "dry" after delivery. Dry sex is painful regardless, but torture after giving birth)

6 weeks is ONLY recommended not enforced.
You should wait 6 weeks to be safe, but your husband can have sex right away. Seriously, If you are ready go for it. If you are not sure about it try some type of sex that is non-vaginal.

They say 6 weeks but it is whenever you feel ready. Just don't push things. My hubby and I waited 2-3 weeks and just took it easy!How long after childbirth can we have sex?
my doctor said 2 weeks but i woudnt recomend it..just take ur time and when u feel like ur vagina has healed then go for it because its not healthy to put urself through all that pain
my doc said 3 to 6 weeks.
