How, and why is sex important in a relationship?

Being intimate is very important. But is sex truly a necessity? What are your views on the subject? How, and why is sex important in a relationship?Well of course sex is a necessity. It creates an amazing bond between two people and it's responsible for reproduction. Does that mean that it should be used and necessary in the way that society has made it necessary? No, my view is that it should only be necessary (and used) in marriage. A physical relationship is really important in a relationship but sex, no, not until marriage. How, and why is sex important in a relationship?

How, and why is sex important in a relationship? If you truly love someone then you want to show them, right? Mentally, you can show your love all you want. If you want to move onto showing your love physically, a new, exciting way to show your love, then having sex is the most physical and intimate way to do so. I think sex is pretty vital (not if you're like grandparents obviously haha) and is a brilliant way to show someone how much you love them but it's just another thing the two of you do when you're together, it doesn;t account for everything, it's just physical. It shouldn't change your relationship, just be another way to express your love for eachother.
I don't think that sex per se is a necessity in a relationship.

But usually when sex becomes an issue, it is because one partner still feels desire, and the other partner wishes to withhold it.

You can't do that. If you belong to someone, you belong to them body and soul.

If you can't give yourself to someone body and soul, they deserve better. How, and why is sex important in a relationship?Sex is what you do to make babies, if you want a baby it is damm important. The necessity of sex for pleasure varies by relationship, in my opinion if it is necessary for one the other ought to put at least close to that much importance. If you are asking are their reasons to wait, well yeah. But if you are in a relationship that is already sexually active than why not enjoy it.How, and why is sex important in a relationship?
My view is that sex isn't as necessary in a relationship as we'd like to think to it is, on the contrary, such chastity leads to the impoverishment to the concept of love. If we're going to reserve sex for a relationship then I'd rather have someone paying a prostitute rather than going through all the emotional baggage of a relationship and the high risk of infidelity. Sex is bodily practice, for bodies, a relationship is mental and relational. Also, I can cite asexuals to support my argument, they are people who can establish a romantic relationship without even considering sex.

Synopsis : I'd like to point out that love isn't about ownership, love can only dwell in a free atmosphere. Convictions are for prisoners. Love is based on mutual understanding, acceptance and care.
Sex raises oxytocin levels in the brain, and other such benefits. These levels are also increased with kindness, love, esteem, etc. So, sex is important for these kinds of rewards, but other activities are too.

I do not feel that sex is a necessity in every relationship, but it does allow for two individuals to become closer, emotionally, mentally and physically. Sexual intercourse takes two individuals and blends them into one; it is an act that should only be done with unconditional love.
I don't think that sex is a necessity like food, air or water. You don't need sex to live. It is essential in a relationship though as it is another way of affirming your love to one's partner.
I think some people "use" sex as a way to make an imaginary bond between two people..Maybe I am old schol but I think sex belongs in a secure relationship..Not like some treat to be handed out..Step by step..attraction, spark, friendship, love..love..more love, sincere commitment.. and then sex..
Continuation of our species
Hmm...Without sex, you and I wouldn't exist. So no, it's not a necessity.
