How long after first taking birth control can you have unprotected sex?

i'm 18 and i'm not on birth control yet. but i will be getting on in within the next 2 weeks. just wanted to find out some info before i go to the doctor. when i start taking my birth control, do you have to wait a couple days to let it start working before you can have unprotected sex? and also, i don't want my mom knowing just yet that i'm getting on bc, so if i go to planned parenthood, do they give it to you without needing your personal home info and stuff?? just curious. How long after first taking birth control can you have unprotected sex?If you start taking the pills on the first day of your period, you are protected against pregnancy right away. If you start on the first Sunday after your period begins, you are protected seven days later. This will all be in the information packet that comes with your BC prescription. It's also sometimes recommended to wait a month before relying on the pill as your only method of protection, because you're getting used to taking pills at the same time every day, and it's easier to forget in that first month.

As someone else said, Planned Parenthood will need your information but you can ask them not to contact you at home. Good luck with everything! How long after first taking birth control can you have unprotected sex?
Planned parenthood will ask you for personal information. On their forms it asks if you can be contacted at home, just mark no. They can't contact your mom.

If you start the pill the first day of your period, you are protected right away, if you do a sunday start it takes a week-usually. It's still best to wait at least a month before having unprotected sex. When you do get it, be sure to read all information supplied with the pill. Read it cover to cover and then again. It's important you understand how it works and how different things will affect your protection this way you'll know what to do in all events: for instance taking antibiotics or even vomiting!

Good luckHow long after first taking birth control can you have unprotected sex?
Unprotected sex is not a good idea. You can still get pregnant on the pill. The pill doesn't become effective in your body for about 2 months anyways, please trust me on this. Planned parenthood will want an address and yes they do send things to you. My cousin had her stuff sent to my house. Please be safe there are a lot of diseases out there and the pill doesn't protect you from that. Maybe you should talk to your mother about this because this is a serious issueHow long after first taking birth control can you have unprotected sex?depends on the brand. some work after a week, the older ones needed up to a month. and since u r 18, u don麓t really need ur mom麓s permission and the doc can麓t really tell her anything without ur written permission.

i just hope that by unprotected sex u don麓t mean casual and random sex, cause there麓s no protection from diseases without a condom.

just read the leaflet that comes with the BC.How long after first taking birth control can you have unprotected sex?
first thing.. i would not have unprotected sex with someone without making them %26amp; yourself have a STD test...

also you mom would only have to know if she needs to pay for it.. the doctor can not tell her anything...

and I believe it takes 3 months but you need to check with your doctor.. it could be different for different brands..

good luck!
