What arguments would you make on behalf of a sex offender who committed the offense before the registration la?

A trend in recent years has been for state legislatures to pass laws that require sex offenders who have served their sentences to register their address with the police and for the government to notify communities that a convicted sex offender is now their neighbor. What arguments would you make on behalf of a sex offender who committed the offense before the passage of the registration law? What arguments would you make on behalf of a sex offender who committed the offense before the registration la?I wouldn't do anything on behalf of a sex offender. What arguments would you make on behalf of a sex offender who committed the offense before the registration la?I am not sure if I understand the question correctly, but if I had to argue I would say that the law can't be retroactive, so it should not include the sex offenders that committed the crimes and where convicted before the law was enacted. Also if they pleaded down guilty, that could be a factor, maybe they can argue that if they knew that their address will be circulated to the neighbors they would not plead guilty to the felony. also, they law could endanger them and maybe cause harassment and possibly put them in danger. What arguments would you make on behalf of a sex offender who committed the offense before the registration la?You could go with the whole 'slippery slope' idea, that if we start back-dating one law, we'll soon do it for others. You could also argue that he may not have committed the crime if he knew what the consequences could have been, in this case it wasn't a consequence at the time. What arguments would you make on behalf of a sex offender who committed the offense before the registration la?
