The sex offender is my sister's fiance and the child is their 9 month old baby girl born after he was convicted. He is registered. Can a registered sex offender live under the same roof as a child? As mentioned, the restrictions on registered offenders vary wildly from state to state and from offender to offender, but I'm not sure that any registered offender is prohibited from having (and living with) his own children, unless the offense was committed against them directly. Can a registered sex offender live under the same roof as a child?
What was he convicted of? What level sex offender is he (level 1, 2, or 3)? "Sex offender" is a very generic term and consists of child molesters, rapists, and people that urinate in the alley.
Can he live in the same house as a child? Depends on the terms of his release, what level offender he is (which is based on how likely he is to repeat), and what the laws are where he lives. If you are concerned, contact the local sheriff's office. They should be able to help you out.Can a registered sex offender live under the same roof as a child?Well im not a law student or anything, but i do own a hell of a lot of books on law (guess you could call the justice system a hobby lol), as far as im concerned, its a no, BUT it all depends on what his offense was and how many times he been convicted for it... I mean, if hes just like kissed a girl without her liking it and shes radded on him claiming harrasment then its not as bad as, say, trying to molest a child (in that situation id say its a definite NO). You'd have to talk to the police about it anomynously or something, or see a local counsillor maybe? If you think the child is in danger then i would DEFINATELY sit down and talk to your sister about it, too many baby's are lost nowadays because of very cruel monsters who have no regard for the innocence of a child...Can a registered sex offender live under the same roof as a child?
This depends upon his conviction and probation rules. Just because he is a registered sex offender doesn't mean that he can't live with children. And If he's not allowed to that means he is risking jail time and fines again, something I doubt he will risk. Being a registered sex offender could mean anything. My younger brother has to register for being a sex offender because he got his girlfriend pregnant and her parents put him in jail for it. He wouldn't hurt a baby, he's not a pedophile in the child molestation sense, and now that she's older they live together and love each other and their baby, and her parents screwed themselves out of their daughter and grandchild.
If you are worried about this, you should check online and find out what his restrictions are in reguards to the 9 month old. He may have done something stupid like just owning pictures of a seventeen year old that will haunt him forever. But if he's not allowed to live with a child under his roof as part of his restrictions, then you should contact the police because the restrictions are there for a reason, to protect the innocent.
Good luck with this. Can a registered sex offender live under the same roof as a child?I knew someone that did - I believe it depends on their parol assignment and the state you live in. Call your NON-emergency 911 line, and ask them.... you won't get a true, undisputable answer unless you do.Can a registered sex offender live under the same roof as a child?
he is not allowed to be under the same roof of that child that stuff just sickens me.
